There are many activities for children and adults in the Museum. Whether you are here for some quality family time, birthday party, special performance by a local artist, or on art or sciences classes, you will enjoy learning new things.

Enhance your understanding of Science and Technology by:

  • Experimenting with the Air Maze, Wind Tunnel, Bernoulli Blower, and Wind Test Zone in our new Blowing in the Wind exhibit!

  • The Science Kitchen allows kids to experiment with common household materials in hands-on activities. New projects are introduced on a monthly basis.
    • If you would like to volunteer to become a docent for the Science Kitchen, please contact the museum.
  • Playing in the Air & Gravity or Magnet Table exhibits
  • Learn about Giant Bubble making and get inside a real one

At WOW! you can:

Sail the high seas on a Pirate Ship

Perform on a Theater stage

Dress up as anything or anybody you want

Arts & Crafts Room

  • Color dolls, dragons and butterflies
  • Add dimension to your artwork with collage material
  • Make paper and cardboard crafts

International Art by Children around the World

  • Discover paintings by children in Cheng Du, China

Local Art by Children from Area Schools

  • Boulder Valley Elementary Schools:  Contact WOW! about displaying art work from your school in the Museum!

Music Room

  • All ages can play with musical instruments
  • Check out the inside of a piano
  • Compose a song on an organ

Dance Floor

  • Listen to dancing music
  • Wear tap shoes or ballet slippers
  • Dress-up in tutus

Special Events

  • Music related events such as performers, a group from a local orchestra, and more

Playhouse

Step into a play house complete with kitchen, living room, patio, and small chairs. Make a pretend dinner for your parents.  Experiment with different household roles.

Groceries

Pretend you are buying groceries, cooking meals, and serving fruit to family and guests.

 

Credit Union

Sponsored by the Elevations Credit Union, our Rags to Riches Credit Union is designed to meet the banking needs of children. This pretend institution will teach children how to set up a savings account, checking account, how to make change, save for a special something, and includes great historical trivia on money. Featuring a drive up teller window with pneumatic tube and car and a wide variety of reading materials.

Your toddler can play on many exhibits:

  • Build sand structures or play with sand toys in the Sand Castle
  • Drop in a penny to make an electric train travel through a village. Press buttons to sound a whistle and turn on lights.
  • Dress up and play with trains and cars on a table
  • See what you can build with blocks

Bring your own food or order pizza through us

We have an indoor and outdoor eating space

 

 

In our outdoor area, we have:

  • Picnic tables

  • A WaterWorks! water table exhibit (at right)

  • and a pulley trolley car
