Eat Well Play Well Exhibit Opens At WOW!

All this summer WOW! Children's Museum will plya host to the Traveling Exhibit Eat Well Play Well. Created by the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, this exhibit focusus on healthy eating and play as an important part of a healthy active lifestlye. You're Invited! Get ready for the red carpet and plan to attend Lights! Camera! Action! WOW!'s 6th Annual Auction Casino Night Gala, April 9th 2011. The party starts at 6:00pm at A Spice of Life Event Center in Boulder. All proceeds from the Gala will go to the WOW! scholarship fund, making it possible for all children to use the Museum. Celebrate NanoDays at WOW!

NanoDays presented by WOW! Children's Museum is part of a nationwide festival of educational programs about nanoscale science and engineering. This year WOW! will host a week of activities at the Museum on March 23rd-25th and March 28th-30th and a special 1-day event for 'tweens, teens, and adults at Lafayette Public Library on March 26th. WOW! Children's Museum Receives Grant from Xcel Energy Foundation

Lafayette, Colorado –WOW! Children’s Museum (World of Wonder) today announced upcoming events and activities at the Museum during the month of November.
Tactile Tuesday – November 2nd, 9th, 16th & 30th
Fun and squishy art materials available to play and create with in WOW!’s Art Room from 9:00am-11:00am! Adult supervision required. Included with your Museum admission!

Story Time – Every Friday in November

Don’t miss out on story time and creative movement session with our story time volunteer every Friday beginning at 11:15am! Story time is included with your Museum admission!

Vocal & Song Workshop for Kids – Thursday, November 11th

Join local singer and songwriter Rebecca Abraxas for a vocal and song workshop on November 11th at 11:00am! Children will learn about voice through playing with breath and sound and having fun with songs while being introduced to the elements of listening, inspiration, and rhythm. Included with your Museum admission!

WOW!’s 14th Birthday Celebration – Saturday, November 13th
WOW! Children’s Museum is turning 14 this year and you’re invited to celebrate our birthday with us! Enjoy a classical music performance by Boulder Bach at 11:00am. Help us blow out our birthday candles after the performance! Cake, refreshments and birthday craft activities are all included with your Museum admission! Thank you to Whole Foods Market for donating refreshments!

November Drop-In Science Explorations – November 16th & November 17th

Curious about how to approach science with your kids? Join WOW! in November for family science fun! Drop-in science explorations are informal hands-on science sessions that are included with your Museum admission. Drop-in science is open for exploration from 10:00am-2:00pm.

Healthy Hands Day – Tuesday, November 23rd

Wash those germs away! Join us for a day of hand washing awareness and activities. Look at your hands under a black light to see if you have clean hands; look at germs under a microscope; hand themed crafts in the Art Room and science activities too! All included with Museum admission!



WOW! Children’s Museum Awarded $18,000 from Scientific and Cultural Facilities District, Tier III

Lafayette, Colorado – WOW! Children’s Museum (World of Wonder) is pleased to announce that the Museum has received a $18,000 General Operating Support grant from the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District, Tier III.

“On behalf of WOW! Children's Museum, I would like to express our sincerest appreciation to the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District, Tier III, and the citizens of Boulder County for their support of our children’s museum.  This General Operating Support grant will help us maintain our exhibits, provide a clean and functioning Museum, and support our on-staff educators to facilitate our services. Our goal is to provide an educationally inspiring museum for the 53,000 young children and their caregivers who visit us each year. With this support, WOW! will be unveiling a series of solar science and health and nutrition exhibits throughout 2011,” said Lisa Atallah, Executive Director, WOW! Children’s Museum.
