UPCOMING EVENTS AND CLASSES :

  • Tactile Tuesday – March 2nd, March 9th and March 16th
    Fun and squishy hands-on art materials available to play and create with in our Art Room from 9:00am-11:00am! Adult supervision is required. Included with your Museum admission!

  • McTeggart Irish Dancers – Saturday, March 13th
    Celebrate St. Patrick's Day a few days early with a special dance performance by the McTeggart Irish Dancers at 11:00am. St. Patrick's Day crafts available too! All included with your Museum admission!
  • Drop-In Science Explorations – March 16th and March 17th
    March's Topic: Measurement
    Curious about how to approach science with your kids? Join WOW! in March for family science fun! Drop-in science explorations are informal hands-on science sessions that are included with your Museum admission. Drop-in science is open for exploration from 10:00am-2:00pm.
  • Bees & Pollinators Presentation – Tuesday, March 23rd
    Imagine that when you look outside everything is just brown. Imagine having to eat only oatmeal for breakfast, lunch and dinner...because of pollinators, such as insects and bats and some birds, we live in a colorful world and are able to eat scrumptious foods like peaches, berries, cantaloupe, celery, cucumbers and almonds. Hooray for pollinators! This special science presentation begins at 11:15am and is included with your Museum admission!
  • Money Magic Presented by Elevations Credit Union – Wednesday, March 24th Join Rags, mascot of the Elevations Credit Union's Children's Savings Club, for this fun presentation on money basics. Learn how to make your money grow, while you save, share and spend wisely!
  • Blues Guitarist Performance – Tuesday, March 30th
    Enjoy two special musical performances by acclaimed local blues musician Johnny Johnston. 11:30am performance will include children's songs; 1:00pm performance is a train theme. Included with your Museum admission!
  • NanoDays National Celebration – March 27th, 29th, 30th, 31st; April 1st & 2nd
    Join WOW! for the national week long celebration of NanoDays and learn all about nanotechnology! Explore nano science by measuring yourself in nano meters; discover how size affects forces like gravity; and help build a model nanotube (and find out what that is!). NanoDays is sponsored by the NISE Network and the National Science Foundation. All activities will take place from 10:00am-2:00pm and is included with your Museum admission!

Music-Time with Madelyn classes are high energy classes that teach children rhythm, beat, singing on pitch, and joyful musical expression. Classes are age specific so each level advances children through the Eight Fundamentals of Early Childhood Musicianship.

Curious about Music-Time with Madelyn? Check out this FREE demo class at 10:15am at the WOW! Museum. To attend the Free demo you must pre register with Madelyn on her website or by telephone. Register early because this will fill up.

Winter 2010 Music classes will begin January 21st and wrap up March 11th. Make-up class on April 8th.

Class Schedule
10 am: "Active": walking to 26 mo
10:45: Toddler: 18-36 mo
11:30: Advanced Toddler: 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 yrs
12:15: Infant (6 mo thru crawling)

Cost
$8.50 per half hour class. $7.50 for siblings (Play time before or after class in the museum is available for the discounted price of $5 paid that day to the museum)
