    Don't miss this traveling children's art show on display at WOW! May 20th to June 21st! Colorado Lights is an art and literacy program for students in 3rd-5th grade!

    Learn about mountain-building and how volcanoes are formed. Investigate different types of volcanoes. Create a cinder cone volcano and make it explode! Time: 10:30-11:15am Ages: 3-5 years

Curious about how to approach science with your kids? Join us throughout June for family science fun. We will explore the Museum’s collections of shells, rocks, plants, and much more. These informal sessions are designed to help parents and children practice being scientists together. Children of all ages are welcome – those who do not yet read must be accompanied by someone age 12 or older.

There is no charge for this pilot offering, although donations are appreciated and will be used to continue this program. Dates and times to be determined.

2008 Summer Science Programs: Check out these classes for curious kids!

Class Fee (Pre-Registration Required):

Individual Class - $9 per student Individual Class- $10 per student

Multi-Class Discount :

Receive $1 off per class when you register your eager scientist for 3 or more classes. All discounted classes must be purchased at the same time. Discount does not apply to multiple students registering together.

Stay and Play Admission:

Explore the Museum for only $4.50 per student before or after science class!

Registration:

Drop off form or call WOW! to register. Registration brochures/forms are available in the museum. Payment can be made with cash, check, or Credit Card (Visa or MC). Maximum of 10 children accepted per class.

Classes meet from 10:15-11:00am -- Adult Participation Required

Use Your Senses – New!

Did you know that one of your favorite toys can teach you how to observe like a scientist? Practice using your senses to find and identify mystery objects.  Make a special observation craft to keep.

Light and Shadow Camp


This 3-day elementary school camp explores the concepts behind our newest science exhibit. Day 1: Learn how light moves, bends, and bounces. Experiment with mirrors and shadows. Day 2: Find out where rainbows come from. Play with colors and explore invisible light. Day 3: Discover solar power and light energy.

Grades K – 2: Tues. July 15, Weds. July 16, and Thurs. July 17 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm
Grades 3 – 5: Tues. July 29, Weds. July 30, and Thurs. July 31 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm

Camp content will build on previous classes – each day is a prerequisite for the rest of the session. However, children may sign up for day 1 only or days 1 and 2 only.

3-Day discount: sign up for the entire camp for discount $24 for members, $27 for non-members. Pre-registration required.
