The WOW! Children’s Museum (World of Wonder) is growing up! In fact, we will celebrate our 11th Birthday on November 10th. Growing up means so many things. In the case of WOW!, our facility is brighter and better than ever with two new permanent exhibits; Blowing in the Wind, which opened May 2007, and Light and Shadows set to open in January 2008. We have also planned for an exciting series of traveling exhibits to visit our museum. We are currently hosting Egypt: Mysteries and Puzzles through January 2008. WOW! plans to build and share small traveling exhibits with other museums in the coming years, including one on math and logic.
All of our new exhibits and programs would not have been possible without committed people like you. If any of you have an eleven year old, I am sure you know that, they as we, are not done growing yet and continue to rely on you for support. WOW!, a 501(c) 3 non-profit corporation receives only 60% of our $350,000 budget through admissions. The remaining 40% comes from the generosity of our donors. It is especially critical to raise these funds as we face an ever growing need to give scholarships to children who are financially disadvantaged. More and more families in need are learning about what WOW! has to offer their children and wish to bring them. Unfortunately many of these families are faced with socio-economic difficulties and cannot come without financial assistance.
Please take a moment and consider a donation this year to WOW! To make it more meaningful, we are launching a new campaign to encourage families to “Give the Gift of WOW!” this holiday season. You can donate in honor of someone and we will send a beautiful acknowledgment to that friend or relative. There is no greater gift than to see the joy on a child’s face as she discovers the many wonders of our museum.
Thanks you so much for making WOW! a vital part of our community.
Sincerely
Cathy Faughnan, Board President
&
Lisa Atallah, Executive Director
